The following story is my attempt to fix the horrible ending to Xena Warrior Princess that was "A FRIEND IN NEED". I'm aware that it's certainly been done before and I'm sure my version won't be the last. But I thought it would be fun to do my own version of how I think things should have gone. Some of the dialog and scenes have been taken directly from the show. While other things have been changed. Besides the crap ending obviously. I feel like that's not really a spoiler saying that a head of time. Otherwise why would I even be writing this since it's the ending that's the problem. Anyway I hope you enjoy my rewrite of the series finale of Xena Warrior Princess, "A FRIEND IN NEED: REIMAGINED"
In a futuristic cyber punk world set in the year 3257 Xena is a renowned detective. And Gabrielle is a prize winning reporter/ journalist, who often helps in Xena's cases. When Xena gets a case that revolves around a series of suspicious disappearances and murders, she and Gabrielle set out to solve the case. But are unprepared for the truely dark turn that the case takes.

As Xena and Gabrielle try to free a large group of slaves, they go undercover to take down the massive slaver operation from within. Gabrielle posses as a wealthy and powerful noble in the market for new slaves or "merchandise". And Xena goes undercover as a slave. Things seem to be going according to plan until Xena allows herself be put up for auction in an effort to weed out the person running the whole thing and Gabrielle is unexpectedly out bid. Xena is then forcibly taken and held as an actual slave by the person running everything. After a confrontation involving some of the guards, Xena's "owner" sees Xena's fighting skills and is impressed. He eventually decides to offer Xena a chance to win her freedom if she can complete a series of battles against his best fighters that help him find and capture his slaves. Soon Xena is an arena fighter by day as she and Gabrielle secretly work to tople the slave empire behind the scenes. (WARNING: The following story contains strong language, graphic descriptions of violence, explicit sex, as well as dark subject matter and content. So that being said if you're fine with reading stuff that includes that sort of thing then enjoy. If not this story is probably not for you. And to those who do read on, enjoy 😁)
The Princess and the Queen
When Xena and Gabrielle help a group of amazons fleeing from slavers, they're invited to the women's village. Where they soon learn that their new friends live in a secluded, secret village that has been hidden from the outside world for centuries. But when the slavers later capture some of the women, Xena and Gabrielle soon learn the serious danger of what might happen if the wrong people in outside world were to ever learn the secrets that the hidden land holds. With fears over her safety, Gabrielle struggles to be seen as someone capable of not only taking care of herself but her people as well. It soon falls on Xena, Gabrielle and their allies to protect the village and it's occupants from a threat where the consequences of their failure could drastically change the balance of the whole world.

SCROLL II: THE GREAT CAMPAIGN WITHIN THE DOMAIN
After the events of the first story the village must deal with the fallout that follows. All seems calm until Gabrielle gets word about some of the other tribes have heard about the village and the events that happened there. The various tribes state that they're holding a summit between all the village's and request for Gabrielle to come as queen and bring some emissaries from the newly discovered secret Sapphire Snow Owl Tribe to explain some of the rumors that have been going around. But during the summit tensions between the different groups there escalate. As queen, Gabrielle tries to restore order before things get out of hand. But after a tragic event happens during the summit, the various tribes blame another. This sparks an all out war amung the whole amazon nation. It's up to Gabrielle, Xena and their amazon allies who oppose the war, to put an end to the violence and bloodshed before it completely destroys the Amazon's for good.
SCROLL III: MUTINY IN THE MONARCHY
Following the great Amazon war. Peace is thought to be restored to the Amazon nation as Xena and Gabrielle continue their stay in the secret village. But the peace is short lived after a series of suspicious incidents begin to occur that appear to be aimed at Gabrielle. This causes concern for Gabrielle's well being as the incidents begin to reveal a sinister plot against her.

SCROLL IV: A FRUITFUL STATE OF SKEPTICISM
Following the events dealing with the betrayal of their some of those who were thought to have been their friends, Xena and Gabrielle carry on living in the secret Amazon village. In an effort to help the village continue to thrive, Gabrielle suggests inviting Amazon's from another tribe to the secret village. Which is a decision that Gabrielle soon comes to question when strange occurrences begin to happen which causes suspicions from the residents of secret village towards their visitors. And soon leads to more serious problems between the two groups. As all the while Xena secretly deals with her own issue in the form of something that she can't explain.
Following the confusion and chaos surrounding Xena's pregnancy, Xena and Gabrielle enjoy their lives in the secret Amazon village with their baby daughter, Aurora. But all too soon their lives are once again thrown into disarray when Aurora is kidnapped by unexpected enemies in a twisted quest for revenge. Leaving Xena and Gabrielle desperate and willing to risk everything to get their daughter back before it's too late...

SCROLL VI : AN ABOMINABLE ASCENSION
After fighting to save Aurora and taking down the vengeful daughter of Velasca, Gabrielle is gravelly injured. Being unable to fulfill her role as queen and believing she's going to die due to a serious infection that spends through her body, because Aurora is just a baby and thus can't rule, Gabrielle gives her right of cast to Xena. Who dispite not wanting it and advocating for a few others to take the title, xena eventually and reluctantly accepts it for Gabrielles sake. But Xena is still determined to save Gabrielle's life and return her title when she does. Though Xena's friends a large number of the villagers don't agree with Xena being queen due to her not being an Amazon at all. And state that they will not accept or follow Xena's rule. But when a new threat comes for the Amazon's, (unknown what yet) will the naysayers to Xena's position rally around their new queen? Or will Xena's past make her powerless in her role as leader? And lead to an unimaginable tragedy for the Amazon people.
SCROLL VII: SACRAMENTS FOR SUBSTANTIATION
After falling deathly ill, given her rite of caste and queenhood to Xena and later being miraculously resurrected and heald by the mixture Xena had given her, Gabrielle insists that dispite Xena's objections, Xena should still remain queen. Not liking the idea, Xena tells her that the title rightfully belongs to Gabrielle. After learning of the option for them both to rule as queen's together, Xena gives in and agrees to the compromise. However the requirements for two women becoming co-queens of the Amazons turns out to involve much more than what Gabrielle was expecting. As Xena notices that their current challenges are far from the only thing that's weighing on Gabrielle's mind.
SCROLL VIII: CONQUERING A BYGONE ERA
Now married and both amazon queen's, Xena and Gabrielle's life within the secret village carries on. While on a trip outside of the village, Xena and those with her encounter an old acquaintance from Xena's past who attacks and uses her power to show the Amazon's some of Xena's past crimes against their people. The Amazon's of the village Xena, Gabrielle and baby Aurora have been calling home are furious and lose trust in both Xena and Gabrielle. They're both soon put on trial and stripped of thier queenhood. As a result Xena is imprisoned and sentenced to death. And Gabrielle's title is also taken before she's exiled from all amazon tribes for life. And forced to leave the village with Aurora. Can Gabrielle has to find a way to stop the Amazon's from executing Xena who's being held prisoner and stop whatever their true enemy has planned before its too late?

SCROLL IX: THE COUP DE GRACE OF THE CROWNED (The Final Scroll)
With Xena forgiven for her past crimes against the Amazon's and Gabrielle's queenhood restored, Xena and Gabrielle decide it might be time for them and Aurora to leave the village. After a bittersweet goodbye they, along with the other non native residents leave. But not long after they find a battlefield and notice that the dead are women from the village they had recently left. This leads Xena, Gabrielle and Aurora back to the secret village as they race to save it from a returning foe. With the stakes at an all time high, can Xena and Gabrielle face the odds one more time and save the village or will this become the end for them all?
