Tina's Aunt Faith put on a Dusty Springfield CD. Tina tried coloring in the coloring book while Aunt Faith unpacked the wreath and Christmas tree ornaments from an old, dusty, beat-up box. The little 4-year-old found a song she knew and sang along. “I just don't know what to do with my elf. Don't know just what to do with my elf.”

Aunt Faith couldn't help laughing. “I think the song is supposed to be ‘I just don't know what do to with myself'.”

“NOOOOOOOO…,” Tina insisted. “I just don't know what to do with my elf.”

Aunt Faith played along. “Is there a problem?”

“What?” Tina asked with cute confusion in her blue eyes.

“Is Santa having a problem with his elf?”

“Yes.” Tina nodded with certainty.

“So what's the problem?”

Tina gave it some thought. “He can't see. He keeps bumping into things and breaking them.”

“What's Santa going to do about it?”

Tina paused again. “Make him some glasses. Then he can see.”

“Sounds like a good idea,” Aunt Faith answered seriously.

She played the song again and let Tina sing it her way.
