Yep, it's JULY and you know what that means... That's right…it's Feed the Bards Month and Hall of Fame nominations time again. Or as I like to refer to it…”Time to go earn your Academy-keep OZ, you Lazy-Butt.” You see I am the reader of the emails and world-class voting machine. Yep, my little ol' eyes and all my fingers and toes. Okay, so here is what YOU have to do... First...It's FEED THE BARDS month. We ask that you rabid readers go on a feeding frenzy and stuff those Bardie mailboxes until they burst. Let the folks who continue to write and share their talents with you (FOR FREE) know how much you appreciate them. We ask that when you send your emails to the individual Bards, you CC or BCC us at feedthebards@yahoogroups.com . The person who feeds the most Bards, in July, will get a personalized prize designed by the world famous Academy Artists and be named FAN OF THE YEAR. Second...It's HALL OF FAME time. We ask that you vote for your top 3 Bards and your top 5 stories or series. Please review the previous winners (from 2005-2011) here: http://www.academyofbards.org/halloffame/ (You don't want to waste your votes on Bards and Stories already elected---once they are in…they are IN FOR LIFE.) The only criterion is that the Bards and Stories nominated must be hosted at the Academy. The Bard must have at least one story (any story) posted at the Academy. The nominated Stories must be housed at the Academy. The exception to this is Missy Good. (She houses the Academy---her stuff is in a different room but the same building which, btw, she owns. Yep, she's the landlord.) However, I am pretty sure everything she has ever written is already in the HOF…well, maybe not her latest grocery list but…if it finds its way to the internet, it is fair game. Also, the stories and Bards do not have to pair up. That is to say, you can nominate five Bards and then five stories written by five other different bards. In addition, if the Bard is already in the Hall of Fame, you may continue to nominate other stories written by that Bard, if you deem them HOF worthy. Yes, I do have a mouse in my pocket...his name is Henry.
academy_contest@yahoogroups.com. Why a single email? I have to count them (hanging chads and all) and I'm from Florida...'nuff said. AND one last thing…The International Day of Femslash is July 20th. They have all kinds of cool stuff planned for that weekend. You can find more info about the FemslashCon at http://www.femslashday.com/ The Academy of Bards Staff would like to once again express their deep appreciation to all the Bards who continue to share their talents and provide entertainment and, in some cases, enlightenment to readers everywhere. Added Part 34 of Hollywood Dreams by Fiur & Vlamme [Original/Alt/Incomplete] Love Me, Love my Dog by Geonn Cannon [Original/Alt/Complete] Announcement from Geonn Cannon Everyone in Seattle knows the name Melody Louise Scott. The little blonde girl with a mischievous grin disappeared three days ago, and every night since her photo has appeared on the news with pleas for any information that leads to her being found safe. Not everyone knows the name Jenna Morris who was just reported missing. The only difference between the two girls is that Melody is white and Jenna is black. Fearing the worst and knowing the police won't give her daughter priority, Jenna's mother hires Ari so she'll know that finding her daughter is the top priority for at least one person. Ari agrees to take the case, putting her at odds with a Detective Lorne, whom she first encountered during the Gavin debacle. Lorne has grown suspicious of what happened that night and uses the opportunity of working together to try and figure out what secrets Ari is hiding. Meanwhile Ari becomes friends with a British canidae Millicent “Milo” Duncan, another wolf whose intentions may not be as pure as they first appear. With Ari distracted by the case and keeping Detective Lorne at arms' length, Dale becomes more suspicious of the new arrival's true motives for being in Seattle.
