Brisk Press is please to announce that two new Susan X Meagher books are now available for purchase.

The Right Time - 514 pages - $16.00 (eBook $8.00)

Timing is critical in so many of the events that make up our lives. Your dismal scores on the SAT forced you to attend your safety school, but you met the people who formed the peer group that has loved and supported you for your entire adult life. If it hadn't been raining, you wouldn't have dashed into the coffee shop and met the cute barista you spent your thirties with. Small decisions, some almost inconsequential, each producing big results.

When Hennessy Boudreaux's boss asks her to talk an insolent young woman into leaving the limo she's commandeered, she never could have guessed that day would change her life. But meeting Townsend Bartley does indeed change her life, for better and worse. Through the years, their lives float together, then drift apart, always with the promise of love just out of reach.

Obstacles, some of them massive, continue to trip them up and make their dreams seem insurmountable. But patience, hard work, and timing can work together to produce a love too strong, too vibrant and too fulfilling for any woman to resist.

Synchronicity: I Found My Heart in San Francisco: Book Nineteen
280 pages - $14.00 (eBook $7.00)

Synchronicity is the nineteenth book in the I Found My Heart in San Francisco series.

Summer is drawing to a close. Jamie's been able to relax, to read, to spend time with her mom, enjoying the fruits of her idleness. Ryan, of course, has filled every day to the brim. If she's not babysitting or tutoring she's working full time on the O'Flaherty cousins' rehab project. But a forced vacation is in her immediate future—if Jordan makes the final roster of the 2000 U.S. Olympic squad.

Wanting only the best for her buddy, Ryan desperately wants Jordan's dream to come true. Even if it means a long trip to the other side of the world. The trip would be more fun if they could talk Catherine into joining them. But her summer has been filled with plans for taking Jennie into her home. She's very determined to make that happen, even if it means she's unable to travel. But it's been a long time since Catherine had to make a child her priority, and her skills might need a little polishing.

Meaningful coincidences create synchronicity, and getting all of them to Sydney will require that and more.

Announcement from D
To 'Da Boss', the Munchkins, and the Academy's faithful readers:

Wow... just wow!! To say I was completely gobsmacked to have been named as the recipient of this year's Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy would be an understatement of epic proportion. It wasn't even a blip on my radar as a possibility, like... ever, so I was literally stunned stupid when the announcement landed in my inbox. It's taken me a couple of days to shake Pink&Fluffy out of their haze to respond.

Thanks to Phil, the Academy was the very first place I sent a story - my first story - and it was the most terrifying and wonderful experience of my life. I'm so grateful that the Academy was there to host newbies like me, and that they continue to do so despite the ever changing landscape of fan fiction and uber/original stories. I am both honored and humbled to have been included in such exclusive company of those who have been recognized before me.

Thank you, Boss, for the award. I am so gratified to have been chosen this year. To OZ... for so many reasons. To the Munchkins - thank you for the work you put into making the Academy a good place to be a bard. And to the Readers... and especially my readers... thank you for reading and feeding. You'll never understand how truly special it is to hear from someone about your work. This recognition is icing on the cake.

Thanks, ya'll!

D

KMorgan has asked us to post the following note:
Dear readers: Thank you so very much to everyone who sent feedback on Flipped. I asked the Academy to post this note because the response I've received has been so overwhelming and touching that it might take me a few days to reply to everyone. But I will because you are all so wonderful!

I had no idea that so many people, in so many places of the world read my stories, and like them! I'm also sure that the Academy is glad to know of its vast readership.

Authors, like me, who posts stories on the Academy's web page have no way of knowing whether you like, or even read our stories, unless you tell us. So, please, make sure and keep the feedback coming! Thanks for your support. KMorgan

Announcement from The Academy of Bards
Oz here (along with Da Boss).
I have good news and bad news about our annual Feed the Bards and Hall of Fame endeavors.

First the GOOD...

For the BAZILLIONTH...okay for the 8th time in as many years our Fan of the Year is Carpe Chakram. (march231994802@aol.com)

<.BIG round of applause.>

I would also like to give a shout out to Pat Iserman, Wannetta Wilson and Sue Fritz for their participation in Feed the Bards month.

Folks, if you want to continue getting free stories to read...you have to take a minute and send some feedback and kudos to those sharing their talents. How else are they going to know that you are reading and enjoying their works.

What is that phrase again????

Oh yeah...IF YOU READ'EM THEN FEED'EM.

Now the BAD...

Seven.
Noun. Sev-en
definition:
1) Cardinal number.
2) One more than six, five plus two or three less than ten.
3) Prime number
or in this case
4) the number of email nominations the HoF received this year.

It's funny. I put the Contest List on no mail every July. Then when the deadline passes, I put aside a couple of hours (on a weekend) and start going through all the postings for the month. I count and recount and make sure that the votes are on the up and up and no one is stuffing the ballot box, so to speak.

I had a lot of free time that weekend.

Mad? No.
Disappointed? Very much so.

There was no clear consensus and so there will be no inductions this year.
No rabid reader chosen nominees.

As for the Lifetime Achievement Award...that choice is always left completely up to the Boss. Why? Because she is 'Da Boss', y'know. Before I say 'take it away, Boss', I just want to say that OMG, I am like, no duh, totally, radically, bitchin' happy that this particular person was chosen. ;o)

Go ahead Boss, do your thing.

Since 2005, the Academy of Bards has given out a Lifetime Achievement award. This award is given to the individual who has impacted our site, and many times our lives. We celebrate the 10 years we have done this and our prior ten winners:
2014 - Blayne Cooper
2013 - D Jordan Redhawk
2012 - Nene Adams
2011 - KG MacGregor
2010 - Lucia
2009 - Linda Crist
2008 - Missy Good
2007 - Lunacy
2006 - Wordee (WordWarior)
2005 - DJWP

As you can see the quality of winners is superior. So many deserving people with just one yearly award. This year's recipient is, of course, no exception. I also happen to have a soft-spot for her because everytime I ask her for a story, she comes through (granted many times at the last possible minute :) ). Her writing is outstanding, her humor fierce - please join my in welcoming and congratulating our newest member - D! (AValiantHeart01@gmail.com)

Seriously?
Sooooooooooo Xlnt, fer shur!
