Roadblocks and Detours
Life is a series
twisting, turning, winding,
where we end up
is rarely where we thought -
roadblocks and detours
and impossible to tell
the difference.
Are we detoured
or roadblocked?
Should we continue on
or go back to the last turn?
Except that there is
no going back.
There is only
finding another path.
Left Right Straight ahead.
Stop Go Yield.
Which is the path
of least resistance?
Is that the road we need to follow?
Each mile we travel -
is it closer to us
or just more wear and tear?
Do I grip the wheel tightly
and hope the road ends
where I want it to
Or do I take a different turn
to a new destination?
