Emptiness
Although pain does not always
have a physical cause,
the hurt is just as real.
A word can pierce deeper than any blade;
a deliberate absence of words
can be a desperate agony;
a lasting wound.
Friendship severed leaves a gap
slowly filled in with loneliness.
