I welcome each new dawn
because you are there,
sharing my bed, sharing my life.
As the morning sun’s rays slant across
the sheets, I am already warmed by your love.
I am yours, mind, body and soul.
A sense of peace settles over me;
I’ve never felt this way before.
I feel dizzy, distracted, befuddled, bemused.
Is this what being in love does to me?
I feel like a different person when I am with you.
Now I know what love is.
It is when you are more concerned with
someone else’s well being than your own.
When you would go anywhere, do anything
to be with the one who completes you,
the one who is the other half of your soul.
