The Kiss

gentle lips touching mine

a caress

a whisper

a breath

gentle lips touching mine

soft lips

leaving a trail of warmth

time stands still

gentle lips touching mine

    As my friend Ash would say, OMG!

    She kissed me.  I can’t believe it.  I’m so stunned that I stay in that position with my head turned towards her, eyes closed, hands holding tightly on to the branch so I won’t fall off.

    That brief kiss was the single most mind-blowing experience I’ve ever had.

    An eternity seems to pass and then I hear a quiet chuckle.  I open my eyes to see her watching me with an amused look on her face. 

“I didn’t intend to render you speechless” she said.

I can only sit there looking at her while my brain attempts to unscramble what she said.  “I … I … I’m not sure what to say,” I manage to say.

“Don’t say anything.  Just say you’ll be waiting for me tomorrow morning.”

I just look at her and nod.  Giving my hand a pat she hops off the branch and starts walking back up the beach.  As I watch her she pauses, turns and says,  "see you tomorrow,” and then continues walking up the beach.
