Midnight Craving
In the middle of the night, I wake to a craving But it's no midnight snack I want
It's the darkness itself that calls to me Awakening urges long kept in check
Enticing me with its anonymity
Calling to the wildness in my heart
And bidding me to answer
To taste once more the sweetness of the night And the temptation is almost more than I can bear Just as I reach the limits of my control The sun breaks over the horizon
And the beast is held at bay once more
