Through Your Eyes
What do you see when you look at me?
I know that to your eyes I appear differently
When others look at me, they see trouble
But when you look, you see straight through to my soul
You see past the facade of toughness
Right into the gentleness of my heart
You see only the good in me
Determinedly blind to all that is truly bad
Proclaimed, proudly, to one and all, that I am tender
and worthy
And, against all odds, you make me believe it too
