Weigh Your Words You didn't have to say it You could have held it back You know you hurt her feelings You could have shown some tact A truth withheld, left unsaid Can be a kindly thing Why be cruel and hurt someone If that's what truth will bring That's not to lobby lying But there's just not the need To say something that's hurtful And make some poor heart bleed And if the chance arises To give a compliment Why not embellish just a bit Your words will be well spent So please think before you speak And weigh your words with care And then decide which path is best To withhold, or to share Terri Lyn Stanfield Reulyn@aol.com 2/12/2001
