Guys, I hope everyone enjoys it, and please remember to vote. And as we like to say in Louisiana, vote and vote often. lol Have a great day, Their short film Gillery's Little Secret, has been selected by LOGO - MTV's gay channel to screen on their website and television network. You can watch it this THURSDAY, April 6th at 10pm on LOGO (EST and PST) then go to their website any day AFTER that http://www.logoonline.com/shows/events/short_films/2006/ (The Click List: Best in Short Film) and WATCH it then RATE (vote) IT as one of the best in short films. The ones with the most votes, and highest ratings, get a spot in LOGO's season finale show. So go online, watch it and vote as much as you can! Thanks for everyone's support! April 4th, 2006Added part 11 of Zee and Windstar's Blood and Honor Added part 10 of Renegade by Cheyne Added part 5 of The 2 H'ers by Phair Announcement Academy Channel One is now back ON THE AIR... welcome to REALI-XE TV (Bard Challenge #15) ALL REALITY PROGRAMMING -- ALL THE TIME Your premise is this...put some favorite characters from the XWP Universe into a reality format show...either one that has already been on the air (Survivor, American Idol, The Apprentice, Big Brother, The Great Race, Surreal Life, So You Want To Be A Rock Star, Cops, etc.---there are tons of shows to choose from) or you may creatively "invent" your own reality show. Why X & G? Because everyone misses them. That's why. Plus, there are so many more intriguing opportunities available if you use them. What*?*? Did I hear someone say they couldn't write classic X & G characters? Oh p'shaw. Sure you can. If I can...ANYONE can. Not that I call what I do...writing. But all right...if you must write Uber or original...then you will have to abide by a condition. If you write anything other than classic X& G Universe you must "create" your own reality format show. No using an established show. Pssst...Helpful hint #1...combine two (or more) of the established shows into one format...TA DA!...new show. Helpful hint #2...I'm real easy...uhhhh...lenient when it comes to interpreting the Roools. Helpful hint #3...take shameless advantage of Hints 1 and 2. Comedy, drama, murder, mayhem...go after those big ratings, baby! ROOOL #1: Entries may be classic X&G, Uber or Original. The choice is always yours. See above for the qualifying condition. Now, writing an X & G story will get you a bonus 3 vote/point head start AND if you also mention a few amazons, you'll get an addition 2 more vote/points (OZ's Prerogative). Throw in some Gods and Goddesses...no extra points for them, they are just cheap and easy. <.g.> Oh and in this XenaVerse...No one is dead if you don't want them to be. EPHINY LIVES! Whoo hoo! AHEM...to fill-in the loophole that is sure to be arriving momentarily <.g.>... HEY! <.waving frantically.> What about J & M? And there it is now... Janice & Melinda will be considered XWP Universe characters and not Uber for this challenge. ANY characters that appeared on the show during its 6 year run will be considered classic X & G Universe for this challenge and can be used in an established reality show format. So yeah, Annie, Mattie and Harry are okay as well. ROOOL #2: Participants are limited to only one entry. Participants may write with a partner or solo, the choice is yours. ROOOL #3: The entries will be posted anonymously and voted upon by the readers at large. If you are writing Uber or original...please do not use characters that can be readily identified with you. UNLESS...you wish to participate without actually competing. Then feel free. Your entry will be posted with your identifying info on it and will not have a voting link attached. Please let us know at the time you enter whether or not you are competing. I am psycho, not psychic and Steph likes to do the fancy-schmancy pages and keep everything all nice and neat and categorized. We encourage everyone to play...whether you want to compete for the prizes or not. Of course, the prize packets in the Academy Challenges are always really nice. :o). ROOOL #4: Story length is a maximum of 50 pages, normal margins (1" top/bottom- 3/4" left/right) and minimum of 11 font. (Steph's Prerogative) ROOOL #5a: Please do not reveal your participation to anyone who has the potential for being a voter...the only exception being... ROOOL #5b: You may use a beta reader, but please keep the number of beta readers to a reasonable limit...anything more than three will be considered a violation of... ROOOL #5c: Posting any entry on any other sites or lists (private or public) before the end of the contest is a BIG NO NO. ROOOL #6: There is no number six. ROOOL #7: Please do not stuff the ballot box or lobby for votes...we at the Academy have gotten very good at identifying this behavior. We won't publicly embarrass you but we will quietly eliminate you from the contest. The Academy folks are everywhere and know everything...we will find out. ROOOL #8a: Now unfortunately Roools #8b and #8c had to be added recently because of a nasty trend that seemed to be developing. Granted it only really applied to a couple of bad bardie types...not you...I mean, most people don't do this to us...but... ROOOL #8b: Why, you ask. Steph really, really, really hates putting up those "removed from the web" messages on the Challenge pages. And if da Boss ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Got it? <.g.> ROOOL #8c: DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IS April 30th...Send it to: academy_contest@yahoogroups.com When you send in your entry, PLEASE specify if you are competing or not and what email/name you would like on your entry after the voting period is over. I will acknowledge receipt of it within 24 hours, if I do not...please send it again to or contact me at PHIL728@aol.com The WINNER and an Honorable Mention will each get a personalized tile box (designed, by our own Academy Artist Munchkins), a Reali-Xe TV T-shirt and some other items from the Academy Treasure Chest of Goodies along with a gift certificate from Amazon, SCP, Godiva, B&N, Starbucks or any other favorite retailer that sells gift certificates. Any questions...email me at the above link and I'll do my best to try to explain what was going on in my mind at the time this was written. The answers probably won't be pretty. <.bg.> Good luck and happy writing. OZ April 3rd, 2006Announcement- As you all know, the last couple of years has been very difficult for Corrie and I; the economic down-turn here has left us living very hand-to-mouth, and it's only been through your generous help that we've managed to survive. The beginning of 2006 was okay; sales of Corrie's artworks have kept us just able to pay our bills and put food on the table. Unfortunately, this month we're in serious trouble. We thought we'd be able to count on a tax refund, but while the government is very quick to demand you pay them money, they are horribly slow when they owe you. We also had some unexpected expenses - our computer died and we had no Internet access for over a week, and since Corrie and I both earn a crust on the computer, we couldn't let that go, and it had to be fixed (and the bill had to be paid). The rent is due, the rest of the bills are due, and we don't have a bean in the bank account. So in desperation, I'm appealing to you for help. Please consider donating. Anything is welcome, and I'm truly grateful for any assistance you're able to offer. Everyone who donates will receive a special Gaslight short story, The Unexpected Murder, written just for Supporters. You can donate through PayPal - you'll find a link on my Library page at:
http://www.corrieweb.nl/library.htm Thank you for your help from the bottom of my heart. If you've been considering buying one of Corrie's artworks, you can check them out at:
