A few years ago, a little-show-that-could premiered called Nikki & Nora. Well, not premiered so much as existed for a little while. It featured Liz Vassey and Christina Cox as detectives who were partners on the force AND off. UPN - with the infinite wisdom that made it "not a network anymore" - decided to pass on making it a full series. Before the internet, that's the end of the story. No one would even have seen the pilot. But the internet existed, and people found the show. And oh, how we loved it.

Fast forward to now, the age of Twitter and Kickstarter. Well, Indiegogo, but it's the same thing. Because NancyLee Myatt is an amazing producer, and because Liz Vassey and Christina Cox are just plain awesome people, Nikki and Nora is getting a second chance. They're raising money to revive the show as a webseries called The N&N Files. The ladies are now private investigators, but they are still together and still fighting crime in New Orleans.

Liz Vassey and Christina Cox are extremely dedicated not only to the show, but to the characters. There's no reason for an actor to remember a failed pilot from a decade ago, let alone for them to fight to bring it back. They really believe in the characters, and the idea of tough female characters who don't have to sacrifice their femininity to be strong. This is the kind of show we need on television but, since that's not likely to happen any time soon, let's help bring it to life on the web.

Veronica Mars got a second chance, and that's GREAT. But how about helping a show with two female leads, a show with two female leads who are in love with each other? I'm very proud to announce that my new novel, THE RISE AND FALL OF RADIATION CANARY, is now available as an ebook from Amazon, Smashwords, etcetera and so on. This is my fifteenth novel and I have to say it's probably my favorite. I can't really say what sets it apart from the others. I always love my characters and stories, but this one refused to let me go. I started it thinking it would be a novella, and somehow it ballooned up into my longest novel yet (not counting Riley Parra, which is more of a series of linked short stories).

The book centres around two characters called Casey Alder and Jodie Flynn. Casey is a mid-twenties cycle courier in London and lives in the area of Finsbury Park which is in the North end of London. She rents a first floor flat from an older lady, who lives in the ground floor of the house. The lady insists that Casey calls her Aunt Essie and she treats her like another grand-daughter. Casey is known as a player though out the gay scene, and is happy with that. That way it is easier to be safe. A childhood in care can make you uneasy of relationships.

Aunt Essie, though feels that Casey could do with being in a relationship, and would love for her to meet her grand-daughter Jodie. This proves harder than she thought and the two girls keep missing each other. Then Casey is shot and sees another person killed as she does a late night pick up for her job.
