He sends a house slave to fetch her.  When she sees Xena she is equally amazed.  Gabrielle is all but forgotten until Xena threatens Batiatus with death when he threatens harm to Gabrielle to keep Xena in line.

This story is based on the FX series 'Spartacus'. It takes place in the ludis of Quitnas Batiatus in the city of Capua.  The story contains sexual encounters between men and women, and between women and women, descriptive but not graphic. And, of course, bloody battles between Xena and her opponents.

Chapter One -- Xena and Gabrielle are making their way from Rome to Greece after killing a Roman Centurion. They have the bad luck of being captured by a Roman detachment returning from a mission having nothing to do with the search for Xena and Gabrielle.
